Digitalisation specialist Alexander Kribus becomes new Executive Director at Messezentrum Salzburg GmbH

Alexander Kribus (Dipl.-Ing. (FH), MBA) became the new Executive Director at Messezentrum Salzburg and the Salzburgarena on the 1st November 2019.
Under the supervision of a personnel consultancy business, multi-step selection process was carried out during the summer of 2019, and Alexander Kribus ticked all the boxes!  
The Chairman of the Supervisory Board and Mayor of the City of Salzburg, Harald Preuner (Dipl.-Ing.), and Dr. Gerd Raspotnig, interim Executive Director since March 2019, both agreed: “Alexander Kribus is an excellent choice – in particular to ensure a successful future for Salzburg’s exhibition and congress centre, and for Salzburg position as a venue for all kinds of events in general. We are convinced his far-sighted approach and experienced team will guarantee the influx of new ideas in terms of organisation and business development.”

Above all, the new Executive Director is looking forward to working on the projects and tasks ahead with his 40-strong team. “The strengths and personalities of every single employee are what guarantees the success of this company. Together we aim to analyse and develop new sources of potential in various event areas to further enhance the favourable market position of the company in the trade fair, congress and events sectors!” Kribus explained.

Alexander Kribus was born in the city of Salzburg in 1974. After graduating in Electrical Engineering from the Federal Higher Technical Institute, he then studied Telecommunications Technology and Systems at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences. Furthermore, at the Salzburg Management Business School he earned the title International Executive MBA in General Management, and completed several intensive training courses at the London Business School.

He has also worked for a number of businesses, such as Salzburg AG, IBM Austria, Reed Exhibitions Messe Salzburg – where he headed the Trade Fairs and Public Access Shows department, and SPAR ICS – where he was responsible for e-commerce until mid-October 2019.
Alexander Kribus is married, the father of two sons and lives in Plainfeld near Salzburg.
